Meet Haylie Hart

Hi, I’m Haylie, the florist and designer behind Hart Bridal Florals.

I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember. I draw, paint, knit, crochet, garden, design, and have always experienced the world visually. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Oregon State University, where I developed a deep understanding of color theory, balance, proportion, texture, composition, and how all of those elements work together to create a feeling. That training, along with a strong creative instinct, influences everything I make today.

Weddings have also somehow followed me throughout my life. I worked them as a teenager, job shadowed a wedding designer, created wedding concepts on the side during college, and once dreamed of designing wedding dresses or opening a bridal shop. Over the years, I’ve been asked to create flowers for weddings, painted flowers and bouquets, hosted countless events, and built multiple businesses of my own.

Looking back, Hart Bridal Florals feels less like something new and more like all of those pieces finally finding their way to the same place. The idea really took shape while planning my own wedding. I wanted abundant, beautiful flowers that felt completely us, but quickly realized how out of financial reach wedding florals could feel. I’ve always loved figuring out how to make something incredible without simply throwing the biggest budget at it, and I knew there had to be room for thoughtfully designed wedding flowers that felt special, personal, and attainable.

So I decided to create it.

To me, floristry is another form of art. I’m fascinated by how flowers can completely change the mood of a space and how color, movement, shape, scale, and texture can tell a story without saying a word. I love classic romance and rich, emotional color. I also love soft pastels, whimsical palettes, unexpected combinations, and joyful explosions of color. Mostly, I just love the incredible variety of flowers and the endless possibilities of creating with them.

Roses will probably always be my favorite. They’re timeless and romantic, come in an almost ridiculous number of colors and varieties, and can be delicate and feminine or dramatic and moody depending on how you use them.

I’m also not interested in arbitrary rules about what wedding flowers are “supposed” to be. Fresh, dried, faux, foraged, or a thoughtful combination of them, I care about creating the feeling you’re imagining.

My own wedding included an ombré baby’s breath ceremony arch that began as an idea in my head, and figuring out how to turn that vision into something real is exactly the kind of creative challenge I love.

If you can dream it, I can create it.

These days, I genuinely obsess over flowers and will take just about any excuse to create something beautiful with them. Getting to make pieces that become part of someone’s wedding day feels a little surreal, and very much like a dream.

When I’m not surrounded by flowers, I live in Bend with my husband and our four kids. I also run a spiritual business, love working out and gardening, and am almost always reading or listening to something, usually a thriller, memoir, true crime story, or podcast.

Hart Bridal Florals is where my love of art, weddings, design, beauty, and entrepreneurship finally found the same home.

I can’t wait to see what we dream up for yours.
